Tasting notes
The Vale dos Ares comes from the Vinho Verde region in the North of Portugal, more precisely from the sub-region of Monção e Melgaço. It is produced from Alvarinho grapes, a typically Portuguese cépage which is delicately aromatic and full-bodied. In this sub-region, the microclimate is such that the Alvarinho grapes provide a full-bodied dry wine with a complex, subtle, fresh aroma reminiscent of apricots, peaches and citrus fruits, and a distinctive mineral quality, with smoky notes. The wine is full-bodied, presents a balanced acidity and a smooth, persistent taste.
The Vale dos Ares will pleasantly accompany grilled fish and seafood. It will also be very pleasant as an aperitif with nuts, olives and saucisson for example.
