The vineyard covers 2.97 hectares in the commune of Néac. The sandy clay soil and the subsoil of gravel and blue clay. Mechanical harvesting with double sorting before placing in vats and total destemming. Aged for 22 months in barrels for 60% and in vats for 40%.
Tasting notes
Château Fougeailles is a dense, powerful red wine with a good balance between acidity and tannins. Woody and red fruit aromas with a nice finish. Pairings with poultry and game meats.
